PROVIDENCE BRUINS SIGN JOSH BLOOM TO ONE-YEAR, TWO-WAY AHL CONTRACT

Providence, RI – The Providence Bruins announced today that the team has signed forward Josh Bloom to a one-year, two-way American Hockey League contract.

Bloom, 23, skated in 30 ECHL games with the Kalamazoo Wings and Fort Wayne Comets during the 2025-26 season, recording 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound forward also appeared in 22 AHL games with the Bakersfield Condors and Abbotsford Canucks last season, posting two goals and one assist. Bloom has played in 81 career ECHL games with Kalamazoo and Fort Wayne, totaling 38 goals and 40 assists for 78 points. He has skated in 38 career AHL games with Abbotsford and Bakersfield, totaling two goals and three assists. 

The Oakville, Ontario, native was originally selected by Buffalo in the third round (95th overall) of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Bruins offseason key dates

Several important events are approaching as the Bruins enjoy the offseason break.

September 11: Rookie camp will commence with prospects and non-roster invitees at Warrior Arena in Brighton.

September 13/14: The prospects face off for two games against the Buffalo Sabres rookies at Lecom HarborCenter Arena in Buffalo, NY.

September 16: Full training camp opens at Warrior Arena.

September 20: First preseason game, at TD Garden vs the Washington Capitals.

Bruins Schedule For 2026 Prospects Showcase

The Boston Bruins announced today the team’s game schedule for the 2026 Prospects Showcase, which will take place Sept. 13-14 at LECOM Harborcenter (100 Washington St., Buffalo, NY 14203).

This marks Boston’s 11th consecutive trip to Buffalo for the annual prospects competition. The Bruins will play two games against prospects from the Buffalo Sabres during the event.

The Boston Bruins 2026 Prospects Showcase roster will be announced at a later date.
